Tuesdays from 1:30pm-4:30pm themed activity.
Wednesdays 2pm-4pm physical activity focus – organized field trips,
field games outside or gym time. Will provide dates/locations of field
trips throughout the summer for further information.
Thursdays 1:30p Unagam Tunuu Time. 3pm-4:30pm Craft Time.
The programming will pause for the following dates:
June 19th, June 23rd to 27th, July 3rd, *July 14th to 18th.
(*July 14th will be focused on a leadership camp, open
specifically to middle and high school students/older).

16th Plants. 23rd Seabird Camp. 30th Greenhouse. July 7th Computer
Literacy. 14th Leadership Camp. 21st 3-D Printing. 28th Axax/Dance.

Seabird Camp June 23-27. 1pm-5pm in the school science room.
Camp is open to all students who have completed kindergarten.

Summer Curfew: Youth 12/under should be in from 10pm-7am and ages 13-17 should be in from midnight-7am. It is unlawful for a parent/guardian to allow a minor child out in any public place after curfew unless accompanied by parent/guardian.
The speed limit for vehicles in city limits is 15mph in residential areas. Kids will be playing out more so follow the speed limit and use caution. Curfew extensions for special community events are allowed. For more info, contact City-4350.

ECO’s BRAIDED mercury monitoring project is at the Bering Sea Research Center located in the Boat Repair Facility. To help provide information that strengthens confidence in the health and benefits of traditional marine resources. Tissue samples will be measured for mercury concentrations. Samples tested: seal, sea lion, reindeer, birds and fish. Samples can include parts of the animal you eat, like muscle and liver. For more information contact ECO 615-5319.

and music. The Station Manager must be a leader with the vision, energy and experience to build on the station’s longtime commitment to the information and entertainment needs of its audience while expanding the station’s engagement with the wider community. This position reports to the school district’s superintendent.
Job Specifications - Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities Managerial
• Oversees all staff, programming, administrative, financial, technical and operational aspects of KUHB.
• Develops and executes all elements of the strategic plan for KUHB
• Manages KUHB staff, to include goal setting, coaching, conducting annual evaluations, and hiring plans
• Monitors industry trends, technology, and the station’s competitive environment
• Ensures an active social media presence and functioning website for the station
• Serves as primary station liaison to the FCC, Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), Alaska
Broadcaster Association, and other professional and community organizations
• Ensures compliance with all Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requirements to include maintaining station license as well as observance of all radio broadcasting rules, regulations, and policies
• Ensures compliance with all applicable federal/state/local rules and regulations
• Acts as a liaison between KUHB and the community as well as school faculty, staff and administration
• Participates in professional development as applicable
• Provides on-air presence as required
• Ability to manage time effectively, be productive working alone or as part of a team.
• Performs all other job-related duties.
Fiscal
• Prepares and learns operational budgets and manages all expenditures of KUHB
• Manages grants awarded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and all associated processes in a timely manner to meet grant deadlines, including budgets, audits, surveys, and training
• Develops and executes a fundraising plan to include revenue goals as well as securing donors and underwriters from a pool of listener-contributors, foundations and corporate entities
• Maintains an up-to-date database of listener-members, donors and underwriters
• Coordinates and oversees a minimum of 1 major fundraising activity annually
• Seeks and secures additional funds from federal, state, and non-profit entities
• Submits and monitors requisitions and purchase orders
Programming
• Plans, develops and implements, in coordination with staff, a comprehensive format for KUHB to include excellent music, news, talk, and sports programming that appeals to current, new and diverse audiences
• Downloads Music content using POOL software
• Completes daily logs for schedule creator
• Develops regional and national programming initiatives based on knowledge of audience tastes and trends
• Plans, develops and implements marketing strategies to promote programs to current and potential audience members
• Oversees news operation to ensure excellence of content and timely delivery of first-rate newscasts, specials, and “live” news events
• Advances local news opportunities for on-air and digital platforms in partnership with staff
Infrastructure
• Oversees and ensures maintenance of the station's equipment and facilities
• Stays in regular communication with contracted broadcasting engineer. Schedules regular maintenance visits. Coordinates all required maintenance, repairs and upgrades
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Strong, creative, and visionary management and leadership skills
• Strong communications (oral and written) skills
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new processes
• Ability to consistently follow up on all business processes and orders
• Ability to plan, assign and direct the work of subordinate employees in a workplace

Training and Experience
• Preferred bachelor’s degree or 1 year of public radio management.
