The SCF Optometry Team is on island through Friday-22nd. Call the SPHC to get your name on the list and they will schedule everyone. Parents, please have your children seen to determine if they need glasses or an updated prescription to help them during the school year. The numbers to call during business hours – 8300, 4203 or 729-5035. 


Tribal Council will have its quarterly meeting this Thursday-21st/Friday-22nd in the council chambers at 10am. Tribal Members are welcome and encouraged to attend.


Reminder: school registration Friday the 29th. First day of school Saturday the 30th.

TDX Corporation’s 51st Annual Shareholders Meeting will be held on SNP at the City Rec Hall on Saturday the 30th at 1pm. You can vote online at the TDX Office Monday – Friday from 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm. If you need your PIN number, contact election officials, Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt at 907-339-7125 and they can provide your PIN to you. If you aren’t voting online, all ballots must be mailed in, faxed or emailed directly to election officials, Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt. Proxy ballots must be received in hand by election officials no later than 5pm on Friday the 29th. There will be no in-person voting at the Annual Meeting. Remember to sign, date and write the time down on your proxy ballot. You can change your vote at any time during the election period. The last proxy you submit will be counted based upon the date and time stamp it is received. Proxy ballots will not be accepted at the TDX Office, only online voting will be available. The Early Bird voting deadline is this Friday-22nd, with a $500 cash prize.


Flea Market: Sunday the 31st and Monday the 1st in the rec-hall from 2pm-4pm.

$10 table fee for sellers. Bake sales welcome, bring your own supplies.


Seeking participants for focus group on SNP Island’s Coastal Erosion. ECO is conducting a coastal erosion research on island as part of Chris Tran’s Master’s thesis with U of A Fairbanks. Your contributions will inform future adaptation and planning. The focus group will be a 2-hour session the week of September 1st, exact date TBD. You must be 14 years/older to participate in the study. If you are interested in participating or have any questions, contact Chris Tran 206-229-4594.

Reindeer Hunters. A reminder to stop by the ECO Office to get your permit before going hunting and within 3 days to report any animals taken. Permits allows ECO to monitor the health of the herd and the health of the island. We cannot properly manage the herd without permit compliance. All hunters need a permit.


Fur Seal Crafting on Tuesdays/Saturdays from 3pm-4pm at the CAC Building. Materials will be provided and it is for ages 12 and up. No experience necessary. Reviving tradition one stitch at a time.


Join us on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 2pm-4pm at the Sr Center for Elder/Senior activities along with tea/coffee. If you’re interested in leading a group activity, please join. Everyone is welcome. Questions, call Katia 619-5336.


Coffee Shop Hours: M-F 9am-12:30pm and 1pm-4pm and Saturday 1pm-5pm. 


Summer Curfew: Youth 12/under should be in from 10pm-7am and ages 13-17 should be in from midnight-7am. It is unlawful for a parent/guardian to allow a minor child out in any public place after curfew unless accompanied by parent

or guardian. 

The speed limit for vehicles in city limits is 15mph in residential areas. Kids will be playing out more so follow the speed limit and use caution. Curfew extensions for special community events are allowed. For more info, contact City-4350.


Please refrain from parking directly in front of the Poss Camp/Hotel building. It is for loading and offloading only. 15-minute parking only if traveling off island. Use the designated parking area, the furthest south side of the airport parking lot. 


Gym Hours: Open Gym: Saturdays 8pm-10pm and Sundays 2pm-4pm.

Basketball: Sundays-Tuesdays-Thursdays. Volleyball: Wednesdays. (both 7pm-9pm).

ECO’s BRAIDED mercury monitoring project is at the Bering Sea Research Center located in the Boat Repair Facility. To help provide information that strengthens confidence in the health and benefits of traditional marine resources. Tissue samples will be measured for mercury concentrations. Samples tested: seal, sea lion, reindeer, birds and fish. Samples can include parts of the animal you eat, like muscle and liver. The food bank is open Monday-Friday and distributes food to households in

need with limited delivery provided to Elders and the disabled without means

of transportation. Call 907-615-5330 to sign up for a box and to schedule your afternoon pick up between 8am-noon. 


Bulk Sale Hours: M-F from 5pm-7:30pm and Saturday from 3:30pm-5:30pm. 

Tavern Hours: M-Thursday 8pm-12am Friday 8pm-2am Saturday 10pm-2am.
